My 4-year-old figured out how to get a real note out of it within ten minutes, which surprised me since I expected a lot more squeaking. It's loud, so I'd brace yourself, but for a first instrument it's honestly perfect.

The colors on this thing are so bright my kid spotted it immediately and started tooting along to the radio. It's survived two weeks of daily use and a drop down the stairs, which says a lot for a first instrument.

My 4-year-old hasn't put this recorder down since it arrived — she toots it around the house all afternoon. The holes are easy for little fingers to cover, so she's already getting real notes out of it instead of just squeaks.
